Hemp Testing and Harvest Schedule

Most hemp varieties remain vegetative when daylength or light provided is longer than 14hrs per day. Indoor grow operations often provide 16 hours to 18 hours of artificial light.

The transition to flower initiation occurs once daylength or light provided reaches 12-13 hours. For an indoor grow this is set to 12 hours of light followed by 12 hours of darkness.

Approximately 4-5 weeks after flower initiation, flowers will be developed enough to conduct weekly testing. This will ensure an accurate harvest date based on CBD and THC accumulation through the last few weeks of your season, also ensuring your hemp stays compliant.

Many varieties are ready for harvest 6-10 weeks after flower initiation. Harvest dates may vary  depending on environmental conditions, variety, and THC accumulation. Regular testing to monitor cannabinoid levels is strongly recommended.

Samples will need to be taken during the final stage of your season, pre-harvest, and sent in to your state’s laboratory for compliance confirmation.
